The Minnesota Vikings are an American pro football team. They have been to the Super Bowl four times, but have never won.
American railroad companies encouraged the settlement of Minnesota (more settlers meant more shipped goods) by advertising Minnesota in Europe as the Scandinavia of North America. Seeking a better life and a chance to own land, many Germans, Swedes, Norwegians, Dutch, and Finnish sailed across the Atlantic and trekked to middle America. Minnesota continues today with Scandinavian traditions.
